Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) block full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted if lumpy
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam or preserves

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed for 1-2 minutes until completely smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
  2. With the mixer on low, gradually add the powdered sugar. Then add the sour cream and vanilla extract.
  3. Increase the mixer speed to medium-high and beat for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is light, fluffy, and increased in volume.
  4. Using a spatula, gently fold in the diced strawberries and strawberry jam until just combined, creating a marbled effect.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl, cover tightly with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to blend and the dip to firm up.

Notes

For best results, ensure cream cheese is fully softened. If using frozen and thawed strawberries, drain them very well to avoid a watery dip. The dip can be stored in the refrigerator for 4-5 days. For a lighter version, Neufchatel cheese and light sour cream can be used.
