Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella ciliegine or bocconcini balls
  • 20-30 large fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • Flaky sea salt, to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 20 4-inch or 6-inch wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Rinse the tomatoes and mozzarella balls. Pat them completely dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  2. Gently rinse the basil leaves and lay them on a paper towel to air dry.
  3. Thread a skewer in this order: one tomato, one folded basil leaf, one mozzarella ball, another basil leaf, and a second tomato.
  4. Repeat with remaining ingredients to assemble all skewers.
  5. Arrange the skewers on a serving platter.
  6. Drizzle evenly with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze.
  7. Season with flaky sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper just before serving.

Notes

For best results, assemble skewers within 30 minutes of serving to keep the basil vibrant. All components must be thoroughly dried to prevent sogginess. Leftovers can be disassembled and stored separately in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
