Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small seedless watermelon
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries
  • 1 pint fresh blueberries
  • 1 large pineapple or 2 cups pre-cut pineapple chunks
  • 1 package (8 oz) bamboo skewers

Instructions

  1. Rinse the strawberries and blueberries gently. Pat them completely dry with paper towels. Hull the strawberries.
  2. Slice the watermelon in half. Use a melon baller to scoop out red spheres from the watermelon flesh.
  3. If using a fresh pineapple, peel, core, and cut it into 1-inch chunks.
  4. Thread the fruit onto bamboo skewers in a consistent pattern, such as strawberry, pineapple chunk, watermelon ball, blueberry. Repeat if space allows.
  5. Arrange the finished skewers neatly on a large serving platter. Serve immediately or refrigerate briefly until ready to serve.

Notes

For best results, use ripe, sweet fruit and pat berries very dry. Assemble close to serving time for optimal freshness. Skewer tips can be snipped off for child safety. Leftover fruit can be stored off the skewers in an airtight container for 1-2 days.
