They are a nourishing, fun alternative to sugary holiday candy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Raspberry Yogurt Bites:
  • 2 cups plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
  • For the Chocolate-Dipped Fruit Hearts:
  • 1 large apple or firm pear
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • Sprinkles, crushed nuts, or shredded coconut for topping (optional)
  • For Assembly:
  • Heart-shaped silicone mold or mini muffin tin
  • Small heart-shaped cookie cutter
  • Parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Make the yogurt mixture: In a medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Gently fold in the raspberries.
  2. Freeze the bites: Spoon the mixture into a heart-shaped silicone mold or a mini muffin tin. Tap to remove air bubbles. Freeze for at least 2 hours, until solid.
  3. Prepare the fruit: Wash and dry the apple. Slice into 1/4-inch rounds. Use a small heart-shaped cookie cutter to stamp out hearts from each slice. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  4. Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.
  5. Dip and decorate: Dip one side of each fruit heart into the melted chocolate. Let excess drip off, then place chocolate-side-up on parchment paper. Add toppings if desired. Let set at room temperature until firm, about 30 minutes.
  6. Serve: Arrange the frozen yogurt bites and set chocolate-dipped fruit hearts on a plate. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

For dairy-free, use coconut or almond milk yogurt. Ensure fruit is dry before dipping to help chocolate stick. Yogurt bites can be stored frozen for up to 1 month. Fruit hearts are best enjoyed the day they are made but can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
