These adorable snacks are a simple, no-bake treat perfect for Valentine’s Day. Fresh fruit is cut into heart shapes, dipped in chocolate, and decorated for a special, healthy indulgence. They are easy to make with kids and perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, firm and ripe
  • 2-3 just-ripe bananas
  • 1 cup high-quality semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)
  • Assorted toppings: sprinkles, crushed nuts, shredded coconut, freeze-dried berry powder

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Wash strawberries and pat completely dry with paper towels.
  2. Cut fruit into hearts. For strawberries: slice off stem, cut berry in half vertically, then cut a small V-notch at the top of each half to form a heart. For bananas: peel, slice into 1/2-inch rounds, and use a small heart-shaped cookie cutter to press out shapes.
  3. Melt chocolate and coconut oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth.
  4. Dip each fruit heart halfway into the melted chocolate. Let excess drip off, then roll in toppings if desired and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Refrigerate the tray for 20-30 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely set. Serve slightly chilled.

Notes

Ensure fruit is completely dry to prevent chocolate from seizing. For a vegan version, use dairy-free chocolate. Best enjoyed within 1-2 days. Bananas are best eaten the same day.
