These crispy cinnamon sugar banana chips are a perfect homemade snack. Made with simple ingredients in the air fryer, they are a healthier alternative to store-bought chips. They store beautifully and stay crunchy for days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large slightly under-ripe bananas
  • 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil or neutral oil
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • A tiny pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Peel bananas and slice into 1/8-inch thick rounds using a sharp knife or mandoline.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Drizzle in melted coconut oil and stir until mixture resembles wet sand.
  4. Gently toss banana slices in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until evenly coated.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
  6. Arrange coated banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch.
  7. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and firm.
  8. Transfer chips to a wire rack and let cool completely to crisp up.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed. Chips will crisp up as they cool. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
