It requires no cooking and is all about assembling beautiful, fresh ingredients for a crowd pleasing experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh mozzarella (ciliegine or sliced)
  • 2-3 cups mixed heirloom cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes, and heirloom slices
  • 1 large bunch fresh basil
  • 4-6 ounces Italian salami or prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 1 package grissini (breadsticks)
  • 1 baguette, sliced and lightly toasted
  • 1 cup mixed Castelvetrano and Kalamata olives
  • 1 jar marinated artichoke hearts
  • 1 jar roasted red peppers, sliced
  • Extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling
  • Balsamic glaze, for drizzling
  • Flaky sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper
  • Optional: Delicious Ricotta Dip with Hot Honey

Instructions

  1. Select a very large wooden board, marble slab, or serving platter as your canvas.
  2. Place small bowls or ramekins on the board for any dips, the marinated artichokes, and the roasted peppers.
  3. Arrange the fresh mozzarella and tomatoes in generous, alternating clusters around the board. Tuck whole and torn basil leaves throughout these clusters.
  4. Drape the sliced salami or prosciutto in loose folds on the board. Fan out the toasted baguette slices and arrange the grissini. Scatter the olives in remaining spaces.
  5. Just before serving, drizzle the entire board generously with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze. Finish with a pinch of flaky sea salt and cracked black pepper over the tomatoes and cheese.
  6. Let the board sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

For best results, let the mozzarella come to room temperature before assembling. Drizzle with oil and glaze at the last minute to prevent sogginess. The board is highly customizable; swap ingredients based on preference or dietary needs.
