Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt or dairy-free alternative
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender.
  2. Blend on high for 30 to 60 seconds until completely smooth and pourable.
  3. Pour the mixture into a jar or airtight container.
  4. Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or ideally overnight.
  5. Stir before serving and add desired toppings.

Notes

For a vegan version, use maple syrup and plant-based yogurt and milk. The mixture thickens as it chills. If it seems thin, stir and let it sit longer. Do not use steel-cut oats.
