These BBQ Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs combine smoky bacon, sweet barbecue glaze, and juicy hot dogs for a crowd-pleasing cookout favorite. They are quick to prep and grill, making them perfect for summer parties or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 high-quality beef or pork hot dogs
  • 8 thin-cut bacon strips
  • 8 hot dog buns
  • 1/2 cup your favorite barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
  • Toothpicks for securing

Instructions

  1. Pat hot dogs dry with a paper towel. Wrap each hot dog with one slice of bacon in a slight spiral, overlapping edges slightly. Secure each end with a toothpick pushed through the bacon and into the hot dog. Do not wrap too tightly.
  2. Preheat grill to medium heat, around 350-375°F. Place wrapped hot dogs on the grill grates, turning every 3-4 minutes. The bacon should sizzle and render fat slowly.
  3. Brush each hot dog with barbecue sauce during the last 3 minutes of cooking. Optionally, sprinkle with brown sugar for extra caramelization.
  4. Cook until bacon is crispy and browned, about 12-15 minutes total. Internal temperature should reach 165°F. Let rest for 2 minutes before serving. Remove toothpicks carefully.

Notes

Use thin-cut bacon for even cooking. If bacon is not crisping fast enough, finish under the broiler for 1-2 minutes. For a lighter option, use turkey bacon and low-sugar barbecue sauce.
