You don’t need any fancy culinary skills to make a snack that tastes truly gourmet. With just an apple, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and your air fryer, you can create a batch of these delicious chips that will impress anyone. It’s a healthy apple snack that satisfies a sweet craving without any guilt.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar or maple syrup (optional)
  • A pinch of nutmeg or cardamom (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry apples. Using a sharp knife or mandoline, slice apples thinly and uniformly to about 1/8-inch thick, removing any seeds.
  2. In a small bowl, toss apple slices with cinnamon and optional sugar or spices until evenly coated.
  3. Arrange apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if needed to avoid overlapping.
  4. Air fry at 375°F for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through. Watch closely during the last 5 minutes to prevent burning.
  5. Transfer chips to a wire rack or plate and let cool completely to crisp up before serving.

Notes

For the crispiest chips, slice apples as thinly as possible and do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. The chips will crisp up as they cool. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
